It's been a long time since I was able to be here. So much has happened, so much is still going on. But things look as if they are calming down and sorting themselves out.
I'm working on a novel, trying to do 1500 words every day to it. It's a long, slow process, much slower than writing plays, but it will be worth it in the end. Initial feedback says people think it's not bad, so we'll keep fingers crossed (which makes typing quite interesting.) I've also written some sketches for Church in the last couple of weeks, and I have plans for a new pantomime after the novel is complete. Nothing like keeping oneself busy.
I've got more time now. My son, who is disabled, has gone into a residential home. It's best for him, but I miss him dreadfully. Looking on the bright side, I have time to do things, I don't have to find carers for him if I want to go out, I don't have to clock watch... but i do miss his cheerful face and sunny disposition. And don't get me started on those pieces of human detritus that call themselves social workers. All they cared about was themselves. We're currently looking in to their actions, which were improper, insensitive and probably illegal. I'm happy for Steve to go to the home, but they shouldn't get away with pushing people around the way they do. If they can treat me so badly, when I am capable of fighting my corner, then how badly do they treat some of their clients who are more vulnerable than me?
So, it's nose back to the grindstone for this writer, who would really like to eat one day.
